10/3/2018 0 Comments iPhone GPS MappingOne of our goals for the semester was to investigate the differences between a real, handheld GPS units accuracy and the accuracy of a smartphone GPS. This map was created by having a campus ambassador carry a smartphone running the “MyTracks” GPS application on track mode during a tour of UWEC. The data is surprisingly accurate, even with having many buildings on campus as well as some parts being covered by thick tree cover. The data within buildings is even relatively correct.
